
Dr. Takeisha C. Davis
Vice President
Takeisha Charles Davis MD, MPH is the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of the New Orleans East Hospital.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr. Davis is the daughter of two public servants. As such, after High School she entered Xavier University of Louisiana with a desire to serve the public through the field of medicine. She went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine degree at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Davis completed her Pediatric Residency at The University of Texas Southwestern School of Medicine and Childrens Medical Center Dallas in Dallas, Texas. However, after 2 years of community pediatric experience, Dr. Davis decided to pursue her interest in public health by securing a Masters in Public Health from Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts.
Having previously work at that Louisiana Department of Health and Hospital’s Office of Public Health (OPH) as the Region 3 Medical Director Dr. Davis also served as the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospital’s Office of Public Health Regional Medical Director for the Greater New Orleans and Director of the Center for Community and Preventive Health.
Dr. Davis is also a founding member of Achieving Awesome Things Through Inspiring Actions (AATTIA), a small group of like-minded women with the shared desire to empower adolescent females. Through this association and Taylor Made Medical Consulting, LLC, established by Dr. Davis in 2006, was able to follow her passion of educating and empowering young people to achieve their optimal state of physical and emotional health. This has led to an ongoing preventive health lecture series with incarcerated youth and recently Dr. Davis was selected as the keynote speaker for Tulane University’s Inaugural Black Woman’s Health Conference. After AATTIA disbanded Dr. Davis joined with her sister to create Camp AATTIA with a broader mission to educate, enrich and empower the lives of all youth.
Dr. Davis is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Public Health Association, Louisiana Public Health Association, American Association of Public Health Physicians, National Medical Association, and New Orleans Medical Association.
